Workshop “Innovation and Digitization of the Justice System”

This workshop provides a multidisciplinary sharing space for research in innovation, digitization, and reorganization of the justice system. The initiative stems from the research project launched by the Italian Ministry of Justice within the PON Governance and Institutional Capacity framework. This project aims to improve the performance of civil justice in Italy through innovative organizational and digital solutions.

This call is designed to provide an opportunity for all Italian teams that have worked on this extensive project to meet and share ideas following the end of the project. The goal is to create synergies and develop possible collaborations based on an overview of the achieved outputs and analyses carried out in the context of the judicial organization.

However, the call for papers is not exclusively reserved for those participating in the PON research project mentioned above. It is open to all contributions to innovation, digitization, and reorganization of courts and, more generally, the justice system in civil law countries such as Italy.

The approach of this workshop is interdisciplinary and studies from all relevant disciplines are welcome, such as management, administration, organization, computer science, legal informatics, social sciences, and law.

Both published papers, papers under review, and papers not yet submitted to journals or other conferences can participate. The recommended paper length is a minimum of 4,000 words and a maximum of 10,000 words, including the reference list. Papers in both Italian and English are welcome.

For all presented papers, publication (with ISBN) in the Conference Proceedings will be proposed. For some papers, publication in a SCOPUS-indexed volume or a Special Issue of a journal will be proposed (more information on the publication plan will be available as soon as possible on the ItAIS2023 website).

IMPORTANT DATES

• July 10, 2023 – Deadline for expression of interest. Please fill out one expression of interest form for each paper you intend to submit using this link. The expression of interest is only required for organizational purposes and does not commit you to submit the paper or register for the conference.
• August 30, 2023 – Submission deadline (click here for submitting the paper https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=idsg2023).
• September 11, 2023 – Notification of acceptance.
• September 15, 2023 – Conference registration deadline (the conference fee will be published on the ItAIS 2023 website).
• October 13, 2023 – 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (with possible additional events in the afternoon): Workshop at the School of Economics and Management, University of Turin, Corso Unione Sovietica 220, Turin.

Important: This registration entitles you to participate both in the “Innovation and Digitization of the Justice System” workshop and all sessions and social events of the ItAIS 2023 conference.
